100 cal snacks

One of the most popular questions I receive from cleansers is, "What should I eat for my snacks". The best thing is that it's so flexible that the sky is the limit really. Ideally, you'd like to eat snacks that will be alkaline for your body, since Isagenix is working at making your body more alkaline, incorporate some protein, and keep it to around 100-150 calories (depending on your daily need).

Veggies are always the best option. My favorite snack is an apple or celery and peanut butter, hard boiled egg, small handful of nuts (usually I resort to almonds). Veggies are good too. Another great option as a snack is 1/2c cottage cheese, or 1c plain greek yogurt (I sweeten with stevia). However, consuming dairy is not helping your body stay in an alkaline state, so use sparingly. Did I mention veggies are a good idea?

Here are some other 100 calorie snack ideas for your cleanse days...takes out the guess work for you!

Genetic Roulette

You owe it to yourself to watch this eye-opening film about GMO's and the effect on our health and wellbeing.

http://www.responsibletechnology.org/posts/genetic-roulette-free-screening-vote-today/

I was pretty appalled at some things I learned. It's very educational and will drive home why you want to buy organic produce, meats/dairy, and Isagenix. Isagenix is non-GMO and supports the body with life giving essential nutrients as well as supports your body's natural cleansing pathways.

Two other resources I love for reducing GMOs in your home are the apps Fooducate and ShopNoGMO (they also have a website). The apps are nice because it's easy to reference foods while grocery shopping.

Ashwa...what'a?

Have you ever heard of ashwagandha? You may be wondering if this is a small country in Africa that you've never heard of, or maybe a disease like herpes that lays dormant in your body for 10 years and then suddenly roars its' ugly head. Fear not my friends, it's none of these.

The ashwagandha root is an adaptogenic herb that is used for a plethora of heath reasons...reducing things in our body like stress, inflamation and anxiety, and at the same time increasing energy and mental clarity. It also makes a great sleep aid and can help with menstrual problems too. Sounds like a real winner, doesn't it?! You may be wondering why you've never heard of this miracle root and why it's not in your One-A-Day.

Let me share a story with you. Two years ago I worked in pharmaceutical sales. I covered the eastern part of Washington and there was a time when I was also responsible for northern Idaho and western Montana as well. I spent A LOT of time in my car! I also spent a lot of time napping in my car. I know how pathetic this sounds, but I speak the truth. I had certain spots I would pull my car over to "rest".  Sometimes a parking lot, other times a rest stop. I'd set a timer on my cell phone (or else I'd wake up 2 hours later), lay my seat back and get my beauty sleep. I did try a lot of things in attempt to not nap during my drive home, like sleeping in later, drinking an afternoon latte, eating a low-carb lunch, or walking over the lunch-hour. However, there came a point when turning the music up really loud and having the widows open in 30 degree weather just wasn't helping! Little did I know that my extreme fatigue was completely diet related!

I discovered this all on accident too. I tried a nutritional cleanse to lose some baby weight and that is when I discovered ashwagandha. It's in a product called Ionix Supreme (and a cellular cleanse product too) and I've never looked back since putting it in my body almost 2 years ago. I sleep better, have sustained energy throughout the day, no longer need coffee to survive, and the best part is that I don't have to take an afternoon nap in order to stay alert for the rest of the day. Oh yeah, I lost 20 pounds too.

As cliche as it sounds, this stuff has changed my life. It's changed the way my body functions. In addition to ashwagandha, Ionix supreme is loaded with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, wolfberry, ionic alfalfa, rhodiola (stress reducer, mood booster), and a host of other good stuff. Get it in you! "An ounce a day can transform your life".
